SBS Ball 2019
The School of Biological Science Ball is an event organised by the SBS societies for the whole school. The ball started three years ago and after the incredible success of the past four events, the SBS ball will be returning March 2020. On this page you will find more details on the past events and will be updated with the news of the SBS 2019.

All the School, students and professors, are invited to attend the event.

The event ticket price includes transport to and from the venue, a champagne reception, a three course meal with wine, ceilidh, professional photographer, and of course an after party!

Previous themes have been Black Tie and the Planet Earth, Blue Planet following the releases of the BBC documentaries.
In 2017 the Ball was themed after the release of Planet Earth 2. Tables were decorated according to the six episodes featured in the documentary. To participate to the event there was also a special guest...

The Venue
Ardoe Mercure Hotel
A beautiful 4 starts hotel just outside Aberdeen along the river Dee. The Ball will be held in the Ballroom where many other events, such as balls and weddings, are held. The staff and event organiser of the Mercure Hotel have always been accomodating and help in setting up this amazing event.

Hipflask Ceilidh Band
The Hipflask Ceilidh Band set the atmosphere for the whole evening, with a full dance floor every time.

They are a traditional 4 piece Ceilidh band with a set up of Fiddle, Drums and Accordion and Guitar. Do you want to check them in advance or need them for a private event, contact them at their Facebook page.
